The best things in life are actually really expensive. Success is just failure that hasn’t happened yet. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it. Eagles may soar, but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe. I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally. I do not want people to be very agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them a great deal. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is you’re stupid and make bad decisions. Everyone has a purpose in life. Perhaps yours is watching television. Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment. I’ve developed a new philosophy. I only dread one day at a time.

Niji Journey [The Dame Was Loaded]

The sheets of rain beating against the windowpane created a melancholic symphony as I sat amidst the dimly lit haze of my office, drowning in a sea of paperwork and regret. The creaking fan overhead struggled against the humid air, and the neon sign outside flickered through the raindrops, casting a shimmering reflection on the worn-out carpet. That’s when she entered—a silhouette shrouded in the misty veil of the night, like a secret waiting to unfold. Her rain-soaked coat clung to her curves, and the droplets on her hair sparkled like diamonds of deception. A subtle smile played on her lips, and her eyes, deep as the midnight sky, hinted at a storm of trouble following her every step. As she approached my desk, the air crackled with an electric tension. The rhythmic drumming of raindrops outside echoed the impending turmoil, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that the storm outside my window could never compare to the one this woman had brought with her.
