Niji・Journey 05 Apr 23
I was testing to see how well NJ could handle hand-accessory interactions (hence the sunglasses), with mixed results; Many of the generated pictures had serious anatomical flaws. In the end, I found that the best sunglasses pics are the ones with hands “near, but not touching.”My next objective was flat, wet hair. NJ didn’t seem…

Niji・Journey 03 Apr 23
I messed around with NJ a little more this morning. While it’s certainly better than straight MJ, it still fails a considerably high percentage of the time when generating complex scenes. By fail, I mean that anatomical elements are borked, background characters are completely out of scale, etc.Let’s take a look at some of my…

Niji・Journey Testing 02 Apr 23
In my opinion, V5 of Midjourney took a step backwards when it comes to the generation of anime pictures, especially chibi art.Yeah, I could just specify V4 when using MJ, but that takes a bit of the fun away; the latest shiny thing is part of the appeal and I’m a shallow consumer whore. Luckily,…

Stable Diffusion 02 Apr 23
I gave a custom-mixed anime model a relatively sparse prompt with a bunch of posing elements (dynamic pose, crazy pose, etc) and let it generate a few hundred images. Some of them came out with a little more dynamism than usual, so I’m calling it a win.

Stable Diffusion 29 Mar 23
I loaded my shitmix model, entered a fairly generic prompt, told Stable to generate 50 batches of 8 pics and then walked away for ~18min. Repeatedly. Was it a good use of computational power/time generating countless hundreds of waifu pics that I don’t need and serve no purpose other than being posting fodder for a blog…

3D Modelling Roundup
I enjoy modelling buildings and vehicles in Blender for use with 15mm wargames. My “current” project is a series of vehicles based on the British CVR(T) family. They’ll be pressed into service as last-minute production vehicles to serve alongside my PAU infantry in a far flung colonial war, but more on that later. Right now,…

Terrain and Miniatures
Over the weekend I applied a stippled paintjob and some half-assed weathering to my recently printed 15mm buildings. I need to add further details to make them appear more lived-in, but at least they’re now acceptable for the tabletop. The larger building off to the right is a Norman house from Patrick Miniatures. I still…

Stable Diffusion 27 Mar 23
Promise I’ll do something other scratchy halftone-shaded, not-quite-watercolour Asuka-alikes in the near future.

Stable Diffusion 19 Mar 23
I was killing time while waiting for a print run to finish on my Elegoo Saturn 2. These are all generated using a completely different model and prompt setup than my usual.

Scattered Terrain Sunday
I spent some this morning catching up on the prep for a few terrain elements: First up are these pre-fab dwellings that I designed in Blender. The design is modular, so they can easily be re-arranged or new elements introduced. One key point for me is that the interiors are fully playable as I want…

Stable Diffusion 15 Mar 23
Messing around with different models, but using the same (or very similar) prompt.

Sci-fi Rice Paddies Get Wet
While taking stock of my grass tufts this morning, it was evident that I only had enough to sparsely plant the paddies, and one unit would have to be done with mixed colours. Oh well, I suppose the mixed tufts could represent plants of varying age, or some that have already been harvested. I mixed…
